Department of Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology follows a traditional conception of anthropology as the study of relationships between the biological roots and cultural adaptations of human beings. Currently our research focuses on forensic, evolutionary, sports and sociocultural anthropology, including anthropology of sexuality and anthropology of death. An integral part of the department, the specialized Laboratory of Morphology and Forensic Anthropology (LaMorFA), focuses on the application of modern imaging procedures in forensic and historic disciplines.
