HIP
The HIP project aims to develop a computer program to assess the sex of undocumented skeletal remains using morphometrics of human pelvic bone and clavicle. The software uses standardized 2D images acquired by a flatbed office scanner and enables the categorization of the individual by sex using traditional and geometric morphometrics methods. The computation methods and graphical procedures of uni- and multivariate statistics are based in the R software (free under a GNU licence) using extension packages. A current version of the program is freely accessible on the following site.
